Angela & Demons

I want to talk about something that many of you will probably feel uncomfortable about. I want to talk about spirits and demons. Since the time that I've been a Christian, I had become a paranormal investigator. 80% of the 15+ years was spiritual warfare, and 20% of that was investigating the paranormal (ghosts).

I went in search of spirits / ghosts because I had  question's that needed to be answered. That question ultimately led to more questions. It came down to two questions. The one that I started with was, why do some spirits stay earthbound, while others don't. The other question that came up years later was what is a demon? Based on scripture it clearly wasn't an angel. First, I needed to define the difference between the soul, and the spirit.

The spirit is our essence, our life force if you will. The soul and the spirit are often thought of as one, and they can be. When we pass away, our physical being is gone, but our life essence continues. We maintain our soul. When scripture talks about the devil wanting to win or destroy our soul, it is literally saying that the devil wants to win our mind, personality or our entire being. That's also why we are to keep every thought captive in Christ. By doing that we leave no thought open for the devil / temptation to enter.

To simplify this, Scripture sometimes talks about our mind. When it says "mind" it literally means our physical mind our (psychology). When it talks about our soul it is literally talking about our very nature of being who we are. Our nature, our being, and personality. Sometimes scripture talks about the heart of a person. That means the spirit. Where the soul, spirit and mind meet is when our mind becomes corrupt because we have a sinful nature, which causes our nature (soul) to become evil / sinful which then darkens / hardens our heart (spirit).

Scripture talks about three heavens. There is, at least, three heavens, if there are three Then there, must be a two and a one heaven's. It's thought that God resides in and above the third heaven. This is my theory which is based on over 15 years of experience investigating the paranormal as a Christian.

Since Angels, such as the ones that the bible mentions always have a physical description of some kind, and demons do not have any physacle description. I believe that demons were people that not only rejected Jesus but were also people with very dark souls. It's those souls / spirits that are demons. I want to emphasise "Not all earthbound spirits are demons, but all demons were human spirits.

Those spirits who accepted the Lord are in paradise and are waiting for His return to be judged (in the second heaven). Although Christians will go to heaven, but will be judged too, in order to learn their place in heaven. some will make it in by the skin of their teeth. Those soul / spirits who haven't accepted Him are earthbound and waiting to be judged (in the first heaven).

This is my theory, it holds true to scripture, and this experience made me a stronger Christian. There isn't anything like coming face to face with demons to strengthen a person's faith.

God bless,
John
