Truefaced, was a life changing book for me. I was stuck, lost in a mindset of trying to please good. I would say to myself, "if only I had more faith, and if I just work on my sin's God will love me more.
I felt like I was so sinful that God couldn't possibly love me. Like he was across some great void, I would yell, "God, can you see me? I'm over here!"
TrueFaced changed that for me. The book explains that God already saved me, and that there is nothing that I can do by my own efforts to please Him. What pleases God is that we have faith/trust Him.
We all wear a mask to some degree. We would say, "I'm doing great!" or "the family is doing great, John just got a promotion!". When in fact were not doing so good at all. We have shame, guilt and remorse that we hide because we're fearful of what others think, when in fact we should be fearful of what God thinks.
